In March, Jewish Home proudly celebrated its honorees at the 2026 Years of Service Awards. This special event recognized and thanked staff members for their many years of dedication and commitment. Their service goes far beyond a job; it reflects a deep respect for those we serve and for one another.
We are incredibly grateful for the loyalty, hard work, and compassion our team brings each day. Their contributions are essential to our mission and play a vital role in making a meaningful difference in the lives of the older adults we serve.
Mike King, President & CEO, who was also recognized for his 20 years of service, shared a few remarks during the event. He noted that everyone is here because they genuinely care about the people we serve and the work we do. He referenced former Buffalo Bills head coach Marv Levy, quoting, “Where else would you rather be than right here, right now?” A sentiment that perfectly captures the loyalty and dedication demonstrated by so many throughout the organization.
As part of the celebration, Christine VanVessem, Senior Vice President Human Resources & Quality, reflected on each honoree’s start date by highlighting notable events happening in the country at that time, offering a meaningful look back at how long these individuals have been part of the Jewish Home community.
In his remarks, Mike King also shared, “The growth of this organization didn’t happen by chance. It has happened because of the hard work of everyone in this room and many others. It reflects this organization’s commitment to your future, the future of the organization, and the future of older adults. I hope you are all very proud of that.”
In total, this year’s honorees represent an incredible 1,130 combined years of service. Each recipient received a certificate and a monetary gift in recognition of their milestone.
Honorees were recognized across multiple service milestones, including 32 employees for 5 years of service, 20 for 10 years, 10 for 15 years, 7 for 20 years, 11 for 25 years, 3 for 30 years, and 2 for 35 years.
We also want to give a special shoutout to Mable H., Dining Room Supervisor at The Summit, who was recognized for an astonishing 45 years of service at Jewish Home!
We couldn’t do what we do without our team, and we are so grateful to have such a dedicated and compassionate group of individuals.
