The Summit Celebrates Second Annual Neil H. Fisher Employee Recognition Awards

(August 20, 2026 – Rochester, NY) Recently, The Summit celebrated the 2026 Neil H. Fisher Summit Employee Recognition Awards! This year marks the second year of the awards, which were established in 2024 in honor of Neil H. Fisher’s parents, Donald M. Fisher and Estelle K. Fisher.

The awards were created to spotlight the incredible Summit employees who go above and beyond to care for residents and help make The Summit feel like home. Employees become eligible to be nominated after one year of service, and nominations can be submitted by residents, family members, fellow employees, and management. Each nomination recognizes employees who make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents and go the extra mile to make them feel valued, cared for, and part of the Summit family.

Wendy Ferrer, Senior Vice President of Housing and Marketing, said:
“Working at The Summit requires a combination of skill, compassion, and dedication, and this year’s Neil H. Fisher Award recipients embody those attributes. It is an honor to recognize their achievements and celebrate the positive impact they have on the lives of residents every day. We are also deeply grateful for the donor support that makes it possible to recognize employees in a meaningful way.”

Mr. Fisher, a resident at The Summit for 14 years, was proud to help present the awards, an opportunity he holds close to his heart. He shared that he believes deeply in the importance of giving and recognizing others and plans to continue spreading that message for years to come, especially when it comes to honoring the incredible staff who make a meaningful difference every day.

During the presentation, Wendy shared that the increase in nominations this year reflects the everyday commitment and dedication of the Jewish Home staff, with 30 nominees recognized this year. Each winner received a certificate and monetary award. The first-place honoree’s name will also be added to a permanent plaque displayed at The Summit, and a brick engraved with his name will be installed on the Jewish Home grounds.
