High-quality care is expanding beyond the Jewish Home campus,
thanks to a gift from Marjorie and Julian Goldstein
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — As the landscape of aging is changing quickly— with one in four Monroe County residents over the age of 60 — Jewish Home is extending several lines of services into the community to meet the demand for high‑quality support and care for older adults.
Jewish Home’s broad range of Home and Community-Based Services helps older adults maintain their independence and remain in their home for as long as possible. With a significant and personal gift from longtime supporters Marjorie and Julian Goldstein, Jewish Home is expanding essential services into the community. The Marjorie and Julian Goldstein Fund for Aging-in-Place Initiatives will ensure older adults receive the care they need wherever they call home.
“Our goal is to find a way to take the services we offer on our campus and bring them into people’s homes — in many ways bringing Jewish Home to your home,” said Julian Goldstein. “We are helping the community to care for older adults in the manner you would want your parents cared for. Whatever you need, we can help.”
The AARP reports that nearly 90 percent of older adults wish to remain in their homes as they age. Jewish Home’s aging-in-place initiatives provide the services and support needed for those who remain in their home by choice or because of a shortage of nursing-home beds, due to Medicaid funding and population challenges. For instance, the Baby Boomers are now all over 62 years of age and account for twice as many older adults needing care than generations before.
“This remarkable gift from the Goldsteins empowers us to continue to help older adults age with dignity and independence, and to develop innovative solutions and enhance our existing services beyond our walls,” said Michael S. King, President & CEO of Jewish Home.
The Home and Community-Based Services are aligned with Jewish Home’s highly revered compassionate care, with staff receiving the same thorough training as those providing healthcare on the campus. Thanks to the Goldsteins’ generosity, Jewish Home added Licensed Home Care to its portfolio, providing a comprehensive range of home care services.
“There are agencies who offer care in the home, but they don’t offer the quality care that Jewish Home provides,” said Marjorie Goldstein. “Jewish Home is the premier service provider in our community and what a gift to remain comfortably in your home environment and be surrounded by your belongings and memories.”

Licensed Home and Companion Care
Licensed Home and Companion Care provides a comprehensive range of home-care services. The professional team offers compassionate one-on-one services, providing the assistance individuals need in their familiar surroundings.
Caregivers undergo thorough background checks, receive ongoing training, work under the supervision of a registered nurse, and collaborate with the individual’s medical team to deliver personalized home care services.
The services include personal care (assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing); 24-Hour care for support and supervision; Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care; companion care for social interaction and companionship; and housekeeping and meal preparation.
Rehabilitation Wellness Home Physical Therapy
A new rehabilitation wellness program affiliated with Jewish Home brings experienced and licensed physical therapists and occupational therapists into your home — offering vital support for individuals recovering from surgery, facing mobility challenges, or managing chronic conditions. The professionals personalize each session to the individual’s home environment, ensuring comfort, consistency, and convenience.
By being in the home, therapists can also help patients navigate safety issues in their homes and offer guidance for simple home-safety improvements, like adding railings and ramps. Plus, in-home services can increase therapy success rates since treatment will not be delayed due to missed appointments related to mobility, travel, or weather challenges.
Physician House Calls
Jewish Home’s Physician House Calls practice provides a convenient, manageable way for older adults to receive the high-quality medical care they deserve in the comfort of their own home. The program is for those over age 65 who do not drive and are home bound. Services include medication management and coordination of care with specialist physicians and home health care services.
Personal Medicine of Rochester
Personal Medicine of Rochester offers a different approach to primary care medicine, where patients benefit from customized care and unhurried visits with their doctor. The smaller practice size enables convenient access to same-day or next-day appointments
The primary care practice, affiliated with Jewish Home, is open to those age 18 and over who are looking for an alternative to the typical primary care model. Personal Medicine of Rochester is located in Brighton at 2109 South Clinton Ave.
Outpatient Rehabilitation
Outpatient Rehabilitation offers a full spectrum of rehabilitation services in one location on the Jewish Home campus for adults of all ages. Patients benefit from one-on-one personalized therapy plans that support recovery or help them to return to their highest level of independence by building strength and confidence.
The treatment programs are open to the public and include physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech, vestibular and post-concussion therapy, the DriveOn program for maintaining driving independence, and Rock Steady Boxing for those with Parkinson’s Disease.
Marian’s House Memory Program
Marian’s House offers daytime respite for those with early- to mid-stage Alzheimer’s and other related dementias. This welcoming retreat in a warm setting offers meals, supervision, and specialized programming.
The house, located on South Clinton Avenue in the town of Brighton, is specially designed for both one-on-one interaction and group activities, including an open kitchen for meal preparation, a family room for art and music exploration, and an enclosed courtyard with two raised garden beds, a space for lawn games, and a walking path.
Adult Day Health Care
Jewish Home is one of the largest providers of adult daytime services in the Rochester area. Its Adult Day Health Care is a medical-model program that serves adults with physical and psychosocial needs. Social interaction, activities, and staff encouragement increase self-esteem and independence for participants — helping them to be able to remain with their caregivers in the community.
Activities include arts projects; games; specialized groups (worship, writing, music appreciation); indoor and outdoor walks; movies; visits from therapy dogs; and group outings. Clinical supports onsite include nursing, therapies, and assistance with daily medications and personal hygiene care.
TekHub
Jewish Home has expanded its TekHub technology support services into the community, helping older adults feel connected and confident as they navigate technology and use digital devices. The program is open to those age 55 and older.
The TekHub team provides — in person or virtually — affordable, personalized guidance with digital photos and files; using email safely and avoiding scams; navigating video calls; using apps; and providing general computer support, including software installation and troubleshooting.
While there are for-profit services that offer general tech support, Jewish Home is a non-profit organization with a mission focused on serving older adults.
