General Inquiries

Do I have to be Jewish to live on campus or receive short-term rehabilitation there?

No. We are a non-profit care community open to people of all faiths and ethnic groups, proudly founded by members of the Jewish community. We provide an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere of warmth, dignity and respect based on Jewish values. We have a board-certified chaplain on staff and regularly scheduled Jewish and Christian worship services take place on-site.

For long-term care or short-term rehabilitation at The Jewish Home:
Our admissions team is available for tours and phone calls Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 4:30 pm. Need a tour outside of these times?  We’ll gladly schedule a tour when a trained staff member is available to accommodate you. To make the most of your time at the Jewish Home, we’d recommend you arrange for a tour ahead of time by calling us at (585) 784-6395 or emailing us.

For independent living, assisted living and assisted living with memory care:
We will be glad to discuss living options and give you a tour of our independent and assisted living residences. Please contact our admissions team at (585) 442-9909 or by emailing us.

The suggested visiting hours are 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. Visitors are welcome at any time, but we encourage visitors to come at these times, for the benefit of our residents and our staff. Children are welcome and encouraged to visit. We love visitors and have beautiful common areas inside and outside the building to accommodate you. Immunized pets are welcome too!

We do have limited, reasonably priced transportation options available on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the varying needs of our more than XXX residents, we do not promise to provide transportation to all medical appointments or other obligations.

Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC)

Jewish Home is a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). This means that we offer a full spectrum of accommodations from independent living, assisted living, assisted living with memory care, to long term/skilled nursing care–all on one campus. If the level of care needed changes for you or your loved one, we can support you right here.

A CCRC offers multiple levels of care — all on one campus — so residents can “age in place.”

Unlike standalone assisted living or nursing homes, CCRCs provide a continuum of care, allowing residents to move between levels of support without relocating to a new community.

We require residents to be at least 62 years old, with financial and health approvals.

We have three rate plans:

  • Plan A with Full Lifecare: A one-time upfront payment plus the life care fee (partially refundable at 90/50%). Your monthly fee covers maintenance, transportation, dining, utilities, and housekeeping.
  • Type B (Modified): Some healthcare included, but costs increase if higher care is needed.
  • Type C (Fee-for-Service): Lower entrance fee, but pay full price for additional care.
  •

Yes! We allow couples to remain on the same campus, even if they require different levels of care.

Short-Term Rehabilitation

Yes! If you have a planned medical procedure that will require short-term rehabilitation, let your healthcare provider know that you want to go to Jewish Home. They can inquire as to availability based on the dates and type of rehab you require. We look forward to seeing you.

An important part of your rehabilitation is attending your outside doctor’s appointments. We ask that you inform the secretary of the following:

  • Any additional appointments that may not be listed in your chart.
  • Any new appointments made or changed by you or your family during your stay.

We can arrange medical transportation to and from your appointments (at an additional cost). One support person is welcome to accompany you. If a friend or family member will transport you, this must be approved by physical therapy.

Of course! You are welcome to have visitors on a 24-hour basis consistent with your preferences and within reasonable restrictions that ensure the safety and recovery of all patients. We ask that all visitors sign in at the concierge desk within the Farash Tower upon arrival and departure.
